INTERACTIVE DJ SET WITH MARQUE “INNAMOST” GILMORE DOORS OPEN 7.30 PRESS RELEASE CHILDREN WITH AIDS CHARITY (CWAC) BENEFIT CONCERT, 17th SEPTEMBER 2002 Children With AIDS Charity (CWAC) celebrates its 10th anniversary this year with a benefit concert, designed to educate and instigate positive change. Held in conjunction with World AIDS Day, this event is designed to educate people to the truth about HIV/AIDS, especially in relation to children infected and affected by the virus. Our mission statement is to expose the fictions and fallacies surrounding the virus and inform people what they can do to reduce the stigma attached to it. The concert is to be held on 17th September 2002 at London Cargo (Shoreditch). Headlining the event will be drum ‘n’ bass maestro State of Bengal with a thumping DJ set. Alongside him will be pioneering vocalist Deedar Zaman, dropping some conscious hip-hop and dub representing the Rebel Uprising Sound System. Also appearing will be DJ Lingo with the lyrical stylings of Verbal Kent and the empowerment messages of Rebel Uprising rapper Nikesh Shukla. Completing the line-up and returning to the night are The Pistachios – The crunchiest bucket of funk, an 11-piece band playing everything from ska, reggae, live hip-hop to raw dirty funk.
